Ex-Offender TRANSITION PROGRAM
- The BABA Ex-offender Transition program is dedicated to providing a rigorous and intensive behavioral framework that assists ex-offenders in achieving stability upon their release. The goal is to reduce recidivism and enable these persons to become productive members of their community. Features of the program include: Job skills training Job placement assistance Residential shelter placement and rental assistance Financial literacy courses (required) Health and fitness classes (required) Mental health and related counseling A conversation with a new program participant. Antonio Redding served time for various offenses including aggravated assault, possession of cocaine, theft by taking, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Program Director: Mr. Redding why do you want to enroll in this program at BABA Charities? Redding: I recognize I need help. I know I have a long way to go I believe this program offers the help I need. I need structure and strong guidance to push me to be my best self and teach me how to live as an outstanding citizen. I plan to never go back to the person I used to be. Program Director: What are your goals after completing the program? Redding: I want to change my life around and give myself the opportunities I never had growing up. I want to live a normal life by working everyday and making a difference in today's society. I want to give back to the communities I have taken away from for so many years by helping others become outstanding men and women in today's society by being the change and setting the example. I want to show others if I can do it anyone can.
